SWORDS U-19s put on a fine display to defeat Birr in their Lenster League clash at ALSAA on Saturday afternoon. Excellent work from the Greens pack, strong rucking and mauling, and some adventurous play from the backline meant that Swords dominated in all facets of the game.

The home side put Birr under huge pressure from the opening whistle and hooker, Sean Malone, was unlucky not to be awarded a try for his early break.
The Greens were able to build on their early momentum and were rewarded moments later when Patch Keane galloped through on the right wing for the opening try.

Further tries from Graham O'Reilly, David Sheridan, Shane O'Kelly and Neil O'Keeffe, along with one conversion from David Butler ensured a well-deserved victory for the Greens. The win puts Swords into joint-third place, with four games gone and they'll look to continue their good form away to fellow Fingal side, Suttonians, on Saturday.
