Meath put to the Swords at ALSAA

EIGHT-try Swords produced the perfect precursor to this weekend's league kick-off, with a thumping win over North Meath at ALSAA on Sunday.
Tries from Juris Beikmanis (two), Loic Guyomarc'h (two), Mick Finglas, Paddy Jones and John Condron gave the Greens a strong platform going into Sunday's game away to Railway Union.
Swords were clinical in dispatching the Kells men and were well on top across the board, particularly at scrums and lineouts, while bossing the breakdowns. Centres Ross McBride and Loic Guyomarc'h starred in the backline, ably controlled by Beikmanis, who stepped in for an ill Aiden Forkan, and it was the outhalf who ghosted through the Meath line to score under the posts.
Man-of-the-match Finglas made some devastating breaks, off-loading nicely to players in support and weighing in with a number of turnovers, while the team as a whole stuck to their patterns and controlled the game well. Swords played some confident rugby throughout - they made several breaks from their own half - and the only concern was poor kicking at times.
That said, it was the only real blot on a positive day for Fingal side and a first win for coach, Chris Keane, in what was his home debut.
Swords open their Leinster League campaign away to Railway on Sunday, October 4th, before hosting Arklow a week later.
